Dog Behaviour Problems : What are they?

There's no such thing as a bad dog

Many perceived dog behaviour problems are simply normal canine behaviours at an inappropriate time or place. However, some are more serious and stem from traumatic experiences, illness, injury or other physiological or neurological causes. Unwanted behaviours can become a serious problem for owners, affecting day to day life and our relationship with our dogs. With a thorough understanding of applied canine behaviour, I can help you to identify when extra help is needed.

Should I attend dog training classes?

Established behavioural concerns are usually best addressed away from the class environment, in a 1:1 setting where your dog feels most comfortable. I therefore come to your home to conduct a behaviour and training assessment. This allows me to meet you and your dog, to see how your dog lives at home and how he interacts with you and with his environment in a place where he feels safe and comfortable. We can then begin to plan structured training to manage the unwanted behaviours.

What if I live outside the Ribble Valley?

I often travel further afield to visit clients. Mileage charge of 50p per mile will be applied if travel of over 10 miles from Whalley is required.

Changing dog behaviour requires a significant commitment from the dog owner to follow Training Plans. Training advice must be followed consistently to be effective. I offer phone and email support to all clients for a defined time following the initial visit to help keep you on track and making progress.
