I believe that dogs are a part of the family. There is no 'one rule fits all' training, because every dog, every caregiver, every household, is different and has different needs. If you want to change something about the routines or behaviour of your dog at home or on walks, great! We'll help without judgement or criticism, to find the solutions that will help you live more harmoniously with your dog(s).
Rewards-based techniques are the focus of what we do, to encourage dogs to learn new behaviors and useful skills. We believe that training should be enjoyable for both dogs and their owners, and our methods reflect this belief, keeping everyone's comfort and safety at the core of what we do.
With your dogs welfare in mind, we take a holistic approach, looking at the dogs health, diet, age and stage of development before putting our training plans in place.

I'm the one you'll work with. In my private dog training sessions I come to you at home for Session 1, because this is where your dog will feel most relaxed and it allows us to discuss in depth your training needs. Home is also where the bulk of your initial training practice will take place, because its the best way to get new skills and behaviours started so it makes sense for us both to start there.
In later sessions if you decide to book more than one session the blocks of 4 sessions are my most popular training service) we'll meet out on walks or at the secure field I use. We'll be guided by your schedule, training needs and dogs ability outdoors when selecting the most suitable venue.
All trainign sessions are bespoke, and you'll have the chance to ask questions, watch demos, practice and hopefully have fun and maybe laugh if things go a little awry when you have your first go. Relaxed and fun is the aim of the sessions I run, so hopefully you'll enjoy the time we spend together while learning lots about dog training and your dogs behavioural communications.
My support staff are friendly, energetic and occasionally found sleeping on the job, but they mean well!

Clockwise from top left we have 7yr old beagle x spaniel mix Archie. He's often out and about helping me with nervous dogs - he's a special kind of character, loves to be everyone's friend and knows when to give a dog space to acclimatise during sessions. A tricky youngster to train, he's now great at focusing on me and my instructions while he's working and is a wonder at helping nervous dogs realise its ok to socialise with support.
Betty the black lab is our newest addition and at 12 months old is still learning, developing and finding her feet. Energetic is the word for Betty! She loves her gun dog fun training and would retrieve all day if allowed. And run. She loves to run!
Willow is our middle dog. A calm and loyal soul, she had a horrible start in life at her first home but she's come on in leaps and bounds since we adopted her. We think she's a spaniel x whippet, but who knows! She has a wonderful greeting grumble she likes to give to her very favourite people. Its something to behold! It could easily be mistaken for a growl - one way she shows us just how important it is to know your dog. A loving soul, she also likes to keep everyone clean and is chief groomer of the group.
All in all a lovely bunch and a complete mixed bag when it comes to breeds and temperaments!
